Bare naked foods do low calorie, low carb and gluten free noodles. They can be ordered on their website. I've not tried them as yet but I certainly intend to get hold of some!

I was interested to read this, I have just ordered a couple of packs from H&B just to try them out. They are a little on the expensive side, but honestly most of the low carb foods seam to be more pricey.

All I need now is some low carb pasta/bolognese sauce and I am set.

Hey mark
Can you not make your own sauce from tomatoes ??

I can try, although the result might look like a special effects studio from an old horror movie :P

Mark

Give it a go, you may be surprised :-)

Really easy pasta sauce 1 onion 1 tin chopped toms 1 red and 1 green pepper garlic and herbs to taste ( I use parsley and basil). Bung it all in a pan and simmer for about 15 min then blitz in a blender/food processor

Interesting idea about the noodles. Please report back because I might get some too.

Good sauce recipe from Lessci too.

I'm hungry....

Thanks for the pasta sauce recipe lessci I will give it a whirl on Wednesday, its off to argos on Monday for a cheap stick blender and some cleaning supplies to clean off the splatter :P. I will let you know how the noodles taste, I am hoping they work because the thing I miss most is spag bol. The family still gather on a Wednesday for spag bol (dolmnio stuff) and I just have to suffer lol. The family are willing to try this too so will have some idea of what they think. My brothers have never been shy about giving their opinions

Hi mark
Argos do a stick blender for £4.13 but to save on the cleaning you can get a jug blender with a lid lol for £9.89 saves on cleaning :-)

Another great link Whitby Jet, I am looking at the Cauliflower popcorn recipe for a Tv snack for tonight,
I am beginning to see the humble cauliflower in a whole new light. I have already decided only to have cauliflower rice with curry for ever!
Thanks

I've not eaten cauliflower since I was a kid. Because I saw my mum find a caterpillar in her dinner. She just put it on the side of the plate and carried on eating. But I cringe every time I see a cauliflower now.

Cheers,

Smudge.

Regarding the noodles. There are posts on the Low Carb section entitled "Shirataki Noodles", which is what those Bare Naked noddles are for more information

I have tried these before. In some dishes they are okay but their taste is definitely an acquired taste.
I use ciao carb pasta which makes me feel like I am not missing out

I love Hartleys Low Calorie Jelly. App 10 calories and 2g carbs for a 175g pot. For that extra treat a spoonful of extra thick double cream. I prefer them if they are left in the fridge so they set a bit more.

Well I decided to do the noodles tonight with some bolognese.... the bare naked noodles didn't have any flavor that I could detect, however they were very chewy... I know how a cow feels now, chew, chew.... chew some more pause for aching jaw, chew some more :P

ok so that might have been a slight exaggeration but they were chewy. I very much doubt I will try them again, so I am gonna try those ciao pasta next.

Thanks Netty :)... Yep I am going to try the whole wheat stuff too then I will know for sure I guess.
