Carbs get everywhere!

Personally i can think of better things to research & cant think how the h^&* they came up with a coherant research question or funding to explore it
I agree with you there! What a waste of time and money.

I am aware that having drinks with artificial sweeteners can fool your brain into thinking it is getting sugar, and so make you crave more carbs This is old news that the brain can be fooled. Also is such a small increase in performance really significant? The athletes may have increased their effort because they believed they were getting a carb rinse and it would improve their performance! In archery we joke that performance improves even if we buy ourselves a new bag for example. It's all in the mind!

The main thing that improved my archery was when I got to the point where I could shoot without thinking - studies like these ones are the ultimate example of overthinking me thinks.
Sadly my recurve is currently gathering dust due to arthitis in my thumb joint

Im a leftie and its in my right thumb joint ( base of thumb) which makes holding the bow stable v difficult and painfull. I thought of going for a compound bow but I was too attached to my recurve

My beautiful Border recurve is also gathering dust due to my frozen shoulders...

If they are studying the effect of oral rinsing with sugar on athletic performance, then I think they should include a Long term study on rotting teeth and gum problems. Only seems fair.

Yes, it amazing what governments spend money on when health, education, food, and housing always seem underfunded. I would tell you about a study one of my sister’s friends did to get his PhD, but it was essentially porn, and the government funded it.! It was, however, and still is, good for a laugh.
