Speak to DSN about being able to change your bolys's according to the carbs you eat.
If you ate only 1 meal, 2 meals or 6 meals prediagnosis there us no reason why you cannot remain doing the same.
If you ate or wish to eat less carbs now then its just a case of understanding how to do so.
I eat just 1 meal a day. Today has been duck (as in meat) and a quail egg psalad, walnuts and 2 sq dark choc. Lowish carbs and just one meal. I will have my flax n chia seeds in a mug of milk later. I've ate this way probably since 12 years old and diabetes (for 30+ years) has been managed. Only once has any consultant or other persons told me to eat carbs as in porridge n toast and I tried thinking they knew best. I ballooned from a size 8 up to a size 12 (going on size 14). Thankfully only done this once... And the advice was badly wrong and definitely not right for me.
1 meal a day!!! how do you do it love my food,plus I do alot of exercise so i have to say i love my carbs,take it you know what your doing though considering having diabetes for so long.don't you ever feel hungry??
Always done it. Never feel hungry because its what I'm used to. I work as a gardener and also go to the gym. Even before my gardening 10 years ago I was the most active walker managing a huge distribution centre walking about 12000 steps a shift. My current steps is averaging 11745 a day.
From the age of 12 (confession time here) ...... I used to save my dinner money at school and skip my meals, also used to skip breakfast. My dad unknowingly fed me my 1st meal of the day at 4.30pm each. So its always been my living really.
I think also because of my slow colonic transit as well that I feel full constantly. I don't think its all because of way I lived when young. I have no appetite and unless my hubby fed me or prepared my meals and left them for me then honestly I have no inclination at all to eat.
Having diabetes so long doesn't make me know what I'm doing-lol. When I came iff pump and back to MDI I struggled. Only thanks to Tim2000s and robert72 that I could get my one meal a day back in place on mdi as 5 years from being on a pump I didn't know how to split doses or qtys when nurse told me one jab of 20... These guys helped me so much and splitting doses has allowed me not to have to force feed carbs when I literally do not want to eat
