type2 since about 2010 - Tablets have contained - BUT on the maximum amount and type of tabs now -

I have just had a discussion with Nurse and will be going onto insulin - starting with 8 units of

Humulin I KwikPen 100units/ml suspension for injection 3ml pre-filled pens (Eli Lilly and Company Ltd) - 5 pre-filled disposable injection - use as directed

So now with the needles and the meter etc
i'm looking at a decent travel bag

she said the pens are kept in fridge - BUT once opened can stay out - these a 100 units - so should last around 12days each PEN - assuming the initial 8 dose works out

Quite a lot of choice of bags with freezer gel etc

just looking for something small 0 i can keep all things in

Meter
Pens
Pen needle
meter Needle
meter tester strips
Glucose gel - maybe a biscuit

what do other people have

They can last upto about 30 days out of the fridge - you only keep them in the fridge when not in use to extend their life (to their use by date rather than 30 days) - you don't really want to use them straight from the fridge anyway because it can sting

You only really need a cooled pouch/bag when out and about if you're going to be somewhere hot (ie. over 30C) because insulin doesn't like being at over 30C

what a good idea, i just found my old pencil case i used to have when i worked and just has a few odds and ends in a draw in my desk - so just tried the meter and tester strips works fine , so when i get the pens and needles - should be good to go - OH and some instant acting gel stuff - although the lowest my sugar has ever been is 6.5 - but.......

thanks so much for the idea

What do you currently keep your wallet, phone, and keys, and whatever bobs and bits you like to carry around in?
Does whatever you use have some extra room for a pen, a couple of pen needles, your glucose meter and something sweet?

I wouldn't worry about keeping things cool for now, it's only mid februari. ;)

I keep my Phone, Keys and wallet in my pocket and thats
it - either in a coat or most of the time a gillie
to then add meter , testers & needles for that and now a Pen and Needles for that - when driving or going away

its more about the car , and visiting friends and family or just staying over night or for a couple of days

Pretty much day to day and out on day trips - carry nothing, as just on pills and never had a low blod glucose

good point on now , no need to worry about cold

found a great little case online and worked out really well, then a few days after delivery I found she was nolonger going to sell and closing down the etsy store and website - so I ordereed a spare case it is just so compact - used a few time now on overnight stays and is perfect - what a shame she closed down, she designed herself for her daughter who is type 1...

I also got a small hypo case with gel, fluid and chewies - which is very small and compact and long life on products - was on offer with free nextday postage - I found online you had to buy 10 and they will just go out of date ... I was going to just buy jelly babies - BUT also told a gel/fluid is useful

You could look on Makerworld (can't post the link, the site keeps telling me it's spammy) for something that looks suitable?

But it needs a 3D Printer, or a friend with one :)

Political deceit. Corporatism. Global religions.
Personally, I choose not to use Temu, as I've read lots
of seriously negative reviews of this on-line marketing site.

Is Temu Ethical?
