Cereals

I use this. Better than Crunchy Nut Cornflakes and Alpen, rolled into one. Delicious, and doesn't raise my blood glucose at all - provided I don't use milk. I use dilute cream instead.

(I have never found a commercial breakfast cereal, porridge or muesli that doesn't raise my blood glucose silly-high, so I have to go the low carb DIY route)

If I feel the need for a breakfast cereal I make my own with Nuts and Seeds.

I tend to invent my own recipe or more exactly use recipes I find online and use the bits I fancy.

Google Low Carb Granola and you will find loads of ideas.

The website Brunella links to has a recipe for granola bars, which you can amend a little to make a loose granola.

I am going to have a go at making the recipes above - need something I can snack on which keeps my sugar levels stable.

Thank you

Take care it really depends very much on how your system digests these foods, you may well find you get a long lasting rise in blood glucose some hours afterwards.

H. Any no-added sugar muesli should be OK but it is a still mostly carbs from the grains so keep it small.
Do we think alpen no sugar, is too high? Any suggestions fir granola?

Hello. I use this one http://www.ditchthecarbs.com/2014/06/17/grain-free-granola. You need to watch it carefully for twenty minutes but it makes enough for me for a couple of weeks and I love the crunch on my yogurt in the mornings.

One word of caution. Most of these recipes do not keep too well, as they have none of the usual preservatives, so unless you are planning to eat it everyday I would make a smaller batch than most of the recipes show. They are not cheap to make and I know from experience even more expensive when you have to throw some away
