Only the old standard type 'bulbs' have been banned to date, but the phase-out of some halogen lamps has been started voluntarily by the manufacturers. The actual date for full removal from sale is 1/9/16 and after that date only class B halogen type lamps will be permitted. So basically only the ultra expensive IR halogen lamps will be on sale.

led bulbs are expensive in ireland ,but its probably the way to go ,you would imagine in 2013 they could get a simple thing like a decent light bulb right !
maybe if we could harness all the methane the politicians produce and use it in gas lamps we would have a cheap source of energy :lol:

There would certainly be enough for long burning :thumbup: :lol:

Induction lamps are perfect for applications such as High Bay warehouse lighting, low bay factory or warehouse lighting, garage lighting, area floodlighting, street lighting, wall pack lighting and car park lighting among other applications but it is these primary areas where induction lamp technology can really shine.

Not a lot of use in a home environment for us in this forum then :shakeshead: :lolno:

I personally think that the LED bulbs are better than CFLs, As some research showed that the LED bulbs can save 80%-90% energy of some common incandescent or halogen lights. CFLS can not do such a great job, and normally LED bulbs can last about 50,000hours, I am not sure how many hours CFLs can last.
I bought a lot of LED products so I am kind of familiar with LED bulbs.
