Ah ha, you spotted it (and you're the first)! It's been there for a few days...
The idea is simple, we want people to be able to identify users who have made great contributions to the community - so, after X number of posts people become champions.
We're implementing some changes to the forum (the way people 'like' things, for example) and the likes/emotions expressed towards those posts (cumulatively) will help to define the champions and any other user groups (we've got a few ideas, but they're very formative at the moment).
