Cheaper Cuts of Meat

On the subject of swans, apparently they are a protected bird so it is illegal to kill them or possess a carcass.
The swans do not know that they are protected, this applies to the black swans in Australia as well...

They belong to the Queen. A couple of immigrants thought they'd lucked in locally but got arrested after killing a couple for food. Word spread quickly and the majestic fleet is still gracing the local river.

I suspect if meat becomes scarce that the Huge flocks of Canada Geese would some become culled here in the city.

In with the cheaper cuts of meat is the awareness of how long they take to cook. Yes, I know about slow cookers etc, but they have to be bought.
 
Who said no animals?

Is your choice being threatened? I don’t think it is. If the global population is too great for the available sources of meat then something has to give. What is your solution?

we have had this discussion on numerous threads. The availability of meat (or not) is not the subject. However, there will be no availability of cheaper cuts of meat if there are no expensive cuts of meat also available. You cant just breed a few bits of cow.

This thread is about making sure that none of the animal remains unused and waste, which then reduces the need for as many animals, as there is more protein available from the less popular parts of it, so fewer animals required.
 
If there are not enough animals then the whole beast / critter will still be available but not nearly so plentiful. . Some folk will have to make a choice between the leaner and cheaper cuts. And some may well go veggie or do with less meat.

I like cheese, eggs and nuts. But do like meat. I eat very little fruit or vedge now. It would or will affect me too. I meant to try the KFC veggie burger tonight, just to give it a go, but clean forgot.
 
There was a trade / defence delegation from the UK here this week trying to work out a trade / defence deal.

I do not think to much was achieved though, so you might not get any meat from here yet.

There’s a lot in these here parts of Lancashire.

Are there edible parts that are currently thrown away? Some cuts that used to be cheap are now quite expensive, oxtail or neck of lamb for example, I remember when lamb shanks cost almost nothing. If there is a shortage of meat there will still be cheaper cuts, but not everyone will be able to afford them.
 
I agree. Those with the deepest pockets will get their chosen cuts of meat.
