One of the things people used to get as wedding presents was a pressure cooker, and for most of my childhood and for some years when living in a flat, making a pot of stew was just part of how things were - it was stew and dumplings the first day and stew with yorkshire puddings the next.- just thinking about it brings back memories of the sound of vegetables being chopped on the enameled metal flap of the kitchen cabinet, the smell of the onions and then the meat being fried, the scrape of the kettle taken off the hotplate of the fire oven and soon after that the hissing of the pressure cooker. It used to terrify my sister for some reason.
I still have a pressure cooker in the kitchen, though I have not used it for some time, as my husband's taste in food is very different from mine.

The Sainsburys TTD streaky bacon that I like says 105g of pork per 100g finished product.
Mmm maybe it’s raw v finished product. Eg dried goods weight less than raw. Not sure how this applies to bacon but I guess it’s along those lines.

I is called "dry cured" so I assume that some of the water is drawn out by the salt.
