Well that's a bonus because 30 years ago after a pension medical , I was refused a death in service component. When I asked a doctor at my next review why I might have been refused ,he explained that records at the time would suggest, I wouldn't live another 30 years as diabetes reduced life expectancy by 30%.. Still here alive and kicking
Falling out of a tree can take much more than a decade off your life. Pleased to be able to report that my insulin dependent, type II diabetic father, sadly with poor control of his BG, is 88. When it was suggested that his consumption of Cadbury's Fruit and Nut should be reduced (he goes for the big bars) he just says "I'm 88". There is an answer, but it would be wasted.
