Cheery headline and enlightened comments, it's a great combination....

Well that's a bonus because 30 years ago after a pension medical , I was refused a death in service component. When I asked a doctor at my next review why I might have been refused ,he explained that records at the time would suggest, I wouldn't live another 30 years as diabetes reduced life expectancy by 30%.. Still here alive and kicking

Well I suppose it's up to us to prove the 'experts' wrong!! Im certainly going have a **** good go!! :) Sue x

According to the wording in a medical students book I.read as a kid 35 years ago when I broke into her room while she was "out on the lash" one night.. "Diabetes no matter how well controlled will reduce life expectancy by 10 years."
Not the sort of thing you need to know as an 11 year old! o_O

Best to take the view that if it`s in the newspapers then it`s probably a load of rubbish anyway.

Well my mother is coming up for 81, and my father 84, and he has had a quadruple heart by pass. So the newspaper is right then!!!!!

Well, reading that, and if I also follow my parents, I either died 3 years ago and nobody told me or I have 3 years left.
