Are we ok to have chewing gum? The sugar free kind?

As with all ‘foods’ test before and after, although I’m not sure how relevant the two hours after first bite (or chew!) is if you are still chewing! Personal I don’t like chewing gum so have never had to check myself

I have had no issues with chewing sugarless gum (T1 for 5 years) ... but sugarless doesn't mean no carb. Most sugarless gums (I found) contain sugar alcohols... unless you "eat" a lot of gum each day, it shouldn't have a noticeable effect...

I have often wondered about the "chewing" aspect of gum - does anyone know/think that as our body gets ready for food as soon as we begin to chew does the perpetual chewing action make our body constantly throw out insulin expecting food? Obviously for T2 not T1

I don't have a very scientific brain so I may be totally barking up the wrong tree

Very unlikely to increase blood glucose concentration, but may result in insulin secretion. Lots of further opinion out there regarding potential health issues with sweeteners, but I’m not well informed enough to comment.

Some people have been shown to have an insulin response to pictures of sweet foods and it is said to resemble a Pavlov's Dogs response. I suspect that the sweet taste of gum plus the chewing action would provoke an insulin response but have no references to back this up just sounds logical to me.
