cholesterol and diabetes

Unbeliever wrote
Regarding "troublemakers " that is very subjective.

I would say simply 'watch and learn.' It doesn't take too long to work out who starts the ad hominem attacks, introduces the sarcasm etc

Watch and learn

Geoff
ps for those without a dictionary, 'ad hominem' refers to a subsequent poster attacking a previous poster rather than addressing the argument of that previous poster.

Yes, Geoff, disagreement is not the issue, but disagreement without some form of supporting evidence is not the stuff of forums.

Hi All.
This thread is titled cholesterol and diabetes can we all please return and keep to topic now...
Lets get things back on track guys/gals .
Anna.

where have my posts gone?????

PS I am not a previously banned person coming back under a different name.

Fair enough Anna. I think that it is unfortunately a global trait to wander off the subject, check out prime ministers question time !

In that case, can we have a general chat thread where we can wander off topic and act like normal adults in conversation please?

I am sure that a thread of general chat exists. Not sure that an 'adult' conversation is guaranteed there !

Back to the forum subject.....

I am 18 years post heart transplant at Papworth Hospital in 1994.

Now, I was put on statins, I put up with them for 2 years, AGONY !, did lots of research -result I have refused them since 1996.

I eat lots of fats, saturated or not, my readings are to my liking. I do not have much of a high regard for the 'medical' profession.

I believe that they are 'paid' to 'promote' certain drugs. I DO NOT TAKE STATINS - the devils drug.

Geoff - right on your side mate !

I love this post!!! 18 years POST heart transplant, and now eating SF's AND non-SFs because that works FOR SUPERCHIP.

For me, that is EXACTLY teh kind of information that I comne to a forum for. PERSONAL EXPERIENCE - not opinions!!!

Thanks for posting, Superchip - I really appreciate it.

Nor anyone I know. Perhaps the person who said that can give us the evidence or retract the inflammatory remark.

Yes it undermines Benedict and Giverny in my opinion. It is their job to ensure this kind of behaviour doesn't occur and we should trust them that are performing that role to the best of their ability.

Patch - You are welcome Sir ! and thanks for responding in such a timely manner !

You are right that a forum should be about FACT not conjecture or opinions !

My writings here are based purely on experience, Heart attacks ( 3 ) are not much fun and I can assure anybody that a transplant ( 1 ) is not much fun either ! Good old Papworth ! They are still looking after me every 6 months, although still sticking to the NHS 'guidlines'.Bless them !

Retract the inflammatory remark? What the hell are you talking about??? People don't walk around retracting inflammatory remarks! Your overthinking this - we're not in a court. We're just CHATTING!!! Forums are as informal as you can get, but some people think that because it is down in writing you are bound to your comments. Chill out, innit!

No it's not. They have much better things to be doing than checking the IP address that people use to register their account here. leave them to deal with the big stuff.

Moderator Edit (Pneu): I have removed part of this post as it included language inappropriate for a family forum.

YAY!!! The OLD Diabetes.co.uk is back - how I've missed you!

Funny that, although a HUGE number of users were banned/left/run out of town, these arguments have returned? Could it be that the people that were banned/left, weren't the problem after all?

No, its because all those members that were banned for causing trouble are all back again using different usernames

Sid.. if you believe that we have banned members posting under new user names then please do inform an admin or mod who will undertake an appropriate investigation. Otherwise in an already heated topic please be a little more thoughtful before posting..

To everyone else in general! - be warned
Any further posts that do not relate to the OP will be viewed in a dim light and appropriate action taken..

As a side note our dietary choice is an emotive subject if you are going to post on an emotive topic then please be prepared to have your opinion questioned; this is the reality of a discussion forum we are not all going to agree all of the time.. however also take note that there are rules which will be enforced and purposeful baiting, thread derailment and general rudeness no matter how you disguise it in grammar and semantics will not be tolerated... this forum is not here for ego points scoring.
