Your TC is above target as is your LDL, but your HDL looks fine, here are the target cholesterol levels that they want people with diabetes to be aiming for:
Your total cholesterol level should be below 4.0mmol/l.
LDL levels should be less than 2.0mmol/l.
HDL levels should be 1.0mmol/l or above in men and 1.2mmol/l or above in women.
I think the diabetes target level of 4 is just arbitrary and assumes you have poor blood sugar control. Even the standard level of 5 is a bit arbitrary. A good level depends on age, genetics and a range of variables. Yes, the HDL/LDL ratio is more relevant.
