Hi. Just asked blood nurse for readings from last week. Only ones are
Total 6.8!!!! Gulp!!!
HDL RATIO 4.1
SERUM HDL LEVEL 1.66
SE NON HDL 5.14

they seem very high and im not sure im going in the right direction.

Any advice appreciated don't want to go on statins. I've avoided meds so far!

It would be helpful to get your triglycerides too as this would give us a clue as to whether your non HDL levels are problematic. The lower the trigs the better.

I'm seeing my DN Thursday and will ask. Thank you so much.

I would say that since you're on a LCHF diet and your HbA1c is in the normal range, you don't need to worry about your cholesterol. Also, if you're still losing weight, your cholesterol numbers won't be very useful - check again when your weight has stabilized.

Ive gone from 14 st 3 (14 st 7 to be honest when I came back from an earlier holiday) to 11 st 5lbs. Hovering on 11 st 4lbs and it just keeps going down! I'm tall at 5 feet 10 and I'm happy with my weight now and hba1 should hopefully be normal according to my home test a1cnow kit (37). So I'm also going to have to try and stabilise weight loss. Never on a million years did I think I would hear myself saying that!!!! This diet is phenomenal. Don't feel hungry. Thanks for your reassurance.

Hi Debandez,
From what happens on LCHF!
Looking at your HDL, it's ok, but you have two unknowns Trigs and LDL.
Just guessing but I think you'll find your Trigs down to about 1.0 and your LDL high due to weight loss.
If you had one unknown you could calculate the other one from a simple formula.
Try upping you calories from protein and good fats to stabilise weight?
D.
