Christmas

What do you eat over xmas as a diabetic this is my first Xmas and I'm so fed up as can't have the usual treats now
For me, I stick with the veg and grilled/roast stuff, mostly... Keto is easy when the whole family knows I'll take the extra portion of meat or mushrooms with bacon. And after 8 years, my mother in law has finally stopped offering me dessert! (We had our dinner together yesterday).

Just remember, this is your first time, and while a sudden sugar spike might make you feel ill, if you do fall off the wagon for a bit, there's no shame in it. Every year people get a bit quiet around the holidays because they have a wobble. Others just decide to treat themselves a bit for a few days a year, and they might not feel so off when they spike as some do, I don't know. If I botch it, I take a brisk walk, watch the christmas lights... All in all, there's no right or wrong way to do this, just... Have happy holidays.

Whatever happens, if you can just fill up of meat/poultry/fish/veg, and avoid the Quality Street for the most part, Bob's your uncle. And it it doesn't work out, well, that's what the new year is for: a fresh start. (image by Lucy Claire Illustration)

Good luck, and happy holidays!
Jo
