i am enquiring about suffering from chronic stress, i have a neighbour from hell doing things plus a sibling from hell also, i am in constant fight or flight mode, and i had an argument with the gp, because he said that chronic stress doesn't effect your diabetes, or cholesterol, which i am having problems with too,, because of the constant stress, personally i think he is talking nonsense, because i am very much aware of what goes on with my own body, but am curious, if anyone else out there who has or is suffering from chronic stress, do you find it effects your diabetes and cholesterol too?

Stress does affect blood glucose levels.

Stress also affects blood cholesterol levels.

So, your GP is ill educated regarding diabetes, at least.

This is ascreen shot of my bg during a stressful day back in 2021Screenshot_20210320-090910_copy_270x585.jpg
I had eaten a low carb lunch about 12 when I was then called at 16:00 to a stressful situation involving a relative, severe mental health issues, police, arrest and then his care home refusing him access until about 03:00 . I remained fasted from 12 noon until next day. I'd had nothing but water.
Anyone can clearly see the peak moments of stress, and the release at the end. At the time I felt quite calm (on the outside) have been in this situation before but my body obviously reacted.

I should have added this was one episode of acute stress, chronic may be different but I do what I can to offset chronic stress. I exercise, get fresh air, yoga, meditation all when I can.
