Been on ciprofloxacin antibiotic this last week for a possible infection. Noticed finger tested blood sugars much higher than normal. I am type 2. Anyone had similar?

As you are on antibiotics, you must have some sort of infection. Infections cause blood sugar to rise, this is probably the cause and not the antibiotics.

I am in trouble after taking Ciproxacin. I am diabetic, I feel body shaking, tremor, eye blurriness, feeling exhausted, chest compression. I have stopped 15 days ago. Now insulin does not work properly, Feel reaction after eating Does any body khnow will go away over time?

Please see your own doctor. We are not medical practitioners.

I am looking for people who might have hypoglycemic symptoms though sugar is not low for ciprofloxacin, I went to Emergency, they says it should go over time

I had an allergic reaction to cipro but that involved extreme muscle pain, v high creatanine kinase ( marker of muscle damage) and hallucinations but blood sugars werent too wildly affected - nasty medicine apparently not good to take if youre allergic to penacillin as they base the new antibioticcs chemical structure on that of penecillin - whoever thought that was a good idea must be a bit bonkers!

How long ago this happened ? Are you Fully cured now? In my case, too much adrenal stressed shaking, pressing on the brain sleeplessness

Nearly 10 years ago now. It took 4 weeks in hospital then 6 months or so of hydrotherapy and physiotherapy to get my muscles and tendons sorted out but alls well now thanks.
I can never have any of the second generation antibiotics again another allergic reaction could be much worse - still looking on the bright side, the history of muscle damage means the consultant has also said that I can never be prescribed statins either!
