Helloo Hellooo,
So had clinic today with my DSN and a very brief visit from my consultant....they are all very happy with me and shocked that I actually made the correct changes to my basals before going to the clinic! The only thing they have said about though is my weight but they completely understand why I have gained, so they have referred me to the gym and I am to try and stick to between 100-120g of carbs a day, as I was having about 170g or more a day but on a very tight budget it's hard to be healthier, which they understand.
Also, I don't need to change clinic's as they will just keep my Dad's address down, which I am glad about!
As for the consultant he congratulated me on how well I am doing...which is apparently rare haha!
I asked a few weeks prior to my appointment regarding my hba1c but she didnt want me to have it done....it was last done in November I think!Well done Nicola. I'd like your post more than once if I could. I know you've been up against it, but one battle at a time, eh?
Did you have bloods done? If so, how's your A1c doing?
Haha not too sure how that's going to pan out with my leg and stuff, they've told me to mainly go swimming! So we shall see how it goes!Hi Nicola that is great ....
Well done you , the gym sounds fun , I going walking for my exercise , but I bet the gym will be a good social hub ....
Congratulations again ....kat x
Haha its not always been that way!xWell done Nicola it is nice to hear from someone who is happy with their medical team
Good you'll get gym membership.
Cutting carbs is important to reducing weight. A glass of water will do just as good.. It's just getting over the craving barrier.
Honest, the more carbs. The more the cravings.
It good that your team are pleased with you and you're looking at your blood levels and making adjustments.
Its hard when young and limited with your income and also with extra health probs such as diabetes to add in as well.... Just try to buy what you need for eating. Always have hypo stoppers but really start to think...." Could I have less", "do I really need that snack?"
It is hard Nicola but having less (in some sense) can mean having more.
So glad you have got to grips with pump and your healthcare team for diabetes are pleased.... Keep at it and find out when your op is likely to be.....
Really pleased that you had a good appt...
