Helloo Hellooo,

So had clinic today with my DSN and a very brief visit from my consultant....they are all very happy with me and shocked that I actually made the correct changes to my basals before going to the clinic! :) The only thing they have said about though is my weight but they completely understand why I have gained, so they have referred me to the gym and I am to try and stick to between 100-120g of carbs a day, as I was having about 170g or more a day but on a very tight budget it's hard to be healthier, which they understand.

Also, I don't need to change clinic's as they will just keep my Dad's address down, which I am glad about! :)

As for the consultant he congratulated me on how well I am doing...which is apparently rare haha! :) :p

Great news Nicola, well done and I hope it continues for you. It's so nice to have a positive appointment.

RRB x :)

Well done Nicola. I'd like your post more than once if I could. I know you've been up against it, but one battle at a time, eh?

Did you have bloods done? If so, how's your A1c doing?

Well done you ! :D:D

I'm pleased that you don't need to change clinics, it's good to have continuity :)

Good you'll get gym membership.

Cutting carbs is important to reducing weight. A glass of water will do just as good.. It's just getting over the craving barrier.

Honest, the more carbs. The more the cravings.

It good that your team are pleased with you and you're looking at your blood levels and making adjustments.

Its hard when young and limited with your income and also with extra health probs such as diabetes to add in as well.... Just try to buy what you need for eating. Always have hypo stoppers but really start to think...." Could I have less", "do I really need that snack?"

It is hard Nicola but having less (in some sense) can mean having more.

So glad you have got to grips with pump and your healthcare team for diabetes are pleased.... Keep at it and find out when your op is likely to be.....

Really pleased that you had a good appt...

I am going to try and have veg with every meal like the dietitian said yesterday! Also 4 ryvita's is too much apparently!! :O

With the gym had an email back this morning and there is atleast a two week waiting list just to get a call back! :O So we will see!

Not too sure how I am going to find out about my operation! x
