I hate my code free. All results were stupidly high, and my hba1c confirms that as well.
I have been studying my Codefree in comparison to my Freestyle Lite.
The Freestyle Lite tends to read slightly lower than the Codefree some of the time but it does depend on the way the blood is drawn up the strip. I have found that -
- The reading will be pretty much equal to the Freestyle Lite if the blood goes full width across the sensor strip AND goes straight up the strip very fast. The blood needs to be fed to the very tip of the strip and not to land on top.
- The reading will be quite a bit higher than the Freestyle Lite if the blood does not load in one swift movement and sort of 'stutters' on the way up.
- The reading will be very low if only a narrow strip of blood is drawn up the strip (eg. got a 1.9 the other day when a very narrow trail went up the strip, should have been about 6 or so I think!!)
These are my findings and hope they may help those who may get strange readings from this meter.
