Coffee now tastes like washing up liquid

Hi,

Over Xmas I noticed that coffee tastes like washing up liquid :(

first I thought it was the cups / washer up, however having returned to work after the break I've noticed the coffee at work also tastes that way.

Is this a side effect of the Type 2?

No. It's probably more a side effect of Metformin. Sometimes it can have an effect on the old taste buds, sometimes a metallic taste. I don't find Tea enjoyable any more due to drug effects affecting my taste buds. I drink better quality stronger Coffee now and that tastes fine.
