lol i think this actually started when i was diagnosed with diabetes, as i said they only seem ok and warm in hotter weather , but i will ask again when im at the quacks,,, thanks for the infoBeta blockers are used for some heart/blood pressure problems. They are known to cause cold peripheries in some people. Their name always ends with 'olol'.
lol i used to smoke, gave up the fags last july ,, only vape now ,,,,,,Are you a smoker Joe, or have you been?
Or does your avatar refer to kippers?
well to be honest my levels were not good, i have been struggling with them, seems like i am to old to get rid of old habits , eating bad stuff, but since joining this forum and reading info from others , ive decided to take stock and since monday morning ive started a low carb regime, and low and behold , already my levels are down to between 4,5 to 7 , so somethings working lol , just need to keep it up , i know its only been a couple of days but im sure gonna keep on with ..This was my only symptom before diagnosis. It disappeared soon after I started lowering my carb intake. How are your blood glucose levels?
my hands are normally ok,, just my feet , i sit here , with me thermal socks on , a blanket over my legs with the heating on , yet my feet are still like ice blocks.....I do, but it only happens in the winter time. I end up wearing two pairs of diabetic socks.
Edit: I also get cold hands at the same time.
im basically on my feet all day , and walk the dog 3 times a day ,,Due to bad circulation . Do some exercise and cold feet improve. Thyroid issues make it feel worse.
I'd ask for a thyroid test. I did years ago before td1hi ,,,no i dont think so, i have said to the dr and diabetic nurse regarding my feet , but never seem to get a straight reply , also i have regular blood tests every 3 months but nothing is ever said regarding thyroid etc
That’s fantastic! Just be aware that suddenly cutting out carbs can give you flu-like symptoms for a few days (keto flu), but it will pass and you’ll feel much better. You can minimise it by keeping really well hydrated (more than usual) and keeping your salts up. I drank a lot of marmite broth! But it won’t last more than a few days. Just keep watching your sugars, and you’ll do great xwell to be honest my levels were not good, i have been struggling with them, seems like i am to old to get rid of old habits , eating bad stuff, but since joining this forum and reading info from others , ive decided to take stock and since monday morning ive started a low carb regime, and low and behold , already my levels are down to between 4,5 to 7 , so somethings working lol , just need to keep it up , i know its only been a couple of days but im sure gonna keep on with ..

Are you drinking it with milk? The lower the fat content of the milk, the more sugar it contains. You’re better off with fully leaded moo or even cream. There are carbs EVERYWHERE!ok thanks for that,, i do drink a lot of tea through out the day, everywhere i can get one lol.. but i will bare that in mind ,, many thanks
ah yea i normally have semi skimmed milk and have read it on here about full fat milk and cream, ive had a coffee or 2 with double cream in it already but not tried it in tea yet ,, i will try it i think lolAre you drinking it with milk? My feet are often cold, but then they were even before diabetes. I wear thick socks at home, and furry boots when I go out, but once they’ve got cold they’re a nightmare to warm up again. I have a microwaveable teddy bear filled with wheat that I put on them when I’m at home - they don’t just feel cold, they ARE cold. Like lumps of ice.

In these times are your feet warm enough?. Good socks are a good investment. The winters aren't kind to our feet.im basically on my feet all day , and walk the dog 3 times a day ,,
Are your feet elevated? Get them elevated. Above your heart is great for circulation. Any swimming or exercise which pumps your blood from your legs to your heart? Waking is good but only if your legs and feet are warm.my hands are normally ok,, just my feet , i sit here , with me thermal socks on , a blanket over my legs with the heating on , yet my feet are still like ice blocks.....
hi yea i wear 2.3 tog thermal socks all the time ,,and yes next time i visit the drs ill say it again to themIn these times are your feet warm enough?. Good socks are a good investment. The winters aren't kind to our feet.
Bed socks are good too. Look after your feet and they'll look after you.
Bad circulation can be hereditary. Speak to your GP if you have on-going concerns @smokiejoe03 .
