I am new to this forum, pre diabetes, controlled by diet. and confused about fat and carbs. I have also just joined slimming world on a GP referral scheme. They tell me pasta and rice are free foods ie eat as much as you like along with veg, lean meat, fish and fruit, eat only low fat everything else, and no sugar. I need to lose a lot of weight so which is best, low fat or low carb?

If you look at the carbs you'll see it's high in carbs, the first number, but the part that is actual sugar, the second number, is low. However all carbs turn to sugar in the body.
