Hi. So on december i had reading of 12.6. Then april 5.6. And just got them done and it was 5.0. Very happy about this but whats confusing me is i have always stuck to my medication faithfully but about a month ago i decided not to take them to see how my blood readings changed. I ate normally. A wee treat everynight of the week chocolate ice cream etc out for meals quite alot. So i was shocked to see bloods at 5.0. I have lost 3 and a half stone since january.

So has my weight loss stopped my diabetes?

Am i even diabetic?

Please help!!

Thank you

soaps on telly and people talking about the characters as if they were real.
You probaly are still diabetic, but under excellent control through diet.

Your weight loss will definitely improve the function of your beta cells which could account for the lower readings. However, once a Diabetic, always a Diabetic. You have improved the Impaired Glucose Tolerance problem but you will always need to keep an eye on your BG readings. Never become complacent. Your highest reading was not tremendously high to start with which could indicate that you were at Pre Diabetic stage then.

Cheers!
