Hi all

I was diagnosed type 2 about 2 weeks ago. I haven't seen a dietician yet and am just muddling through as best I can.
I have just done a before dinner reading and it is 11.6. (usually it's 7 or 8. something) I have eaten a wee bit more during the day than normal  and wondered if I should skip dinner tonight to compensate or does that do more harm than good? I have read that I should eat regular meals.

Any advice appreciated

Edit: It's only one week-feels like two!!!!

I don't think that skipping dinner is ever a very good idea. Not only is it going to make you hungry (and then snack later on), but there is also very little point. If you significantly reduce the carbs in your dinner, then you can get little or no spiking at all, and still fill your tummy up.

The 11.6 mmol/l will have been as a result of something you ate during the day. You just need to find out what it was, and reduce the amount of it you eat next time (or cut it all together).

Thanks for your reply borofergie.

I just feel that I'll never get the hang of this. I assumed eating a meal would raise my levels even higher and was confused when it reduced.
