Confused by Dietician re Low Carb

I found my record of putting on weight and realised that I am a lot lighter - I am down 42 pounds as of this morning - and I have only been concentrating on my BG levels, not even thinking about weight loss.
Just when I was at the maximum is rather hazy - the Metformin and Atorvastatin have affected my memory, but I am not yet one year from diagnosis so I am happy with the changes so far, they are much greater than I was aiming for.

Wow, this is exactly my experience however my weight loss hasn't quite reached those levels yet! It definitely has made me feel better about my choices and that maybe I should cancel my next appointment.
Might be a good idea.. you won't get much from it and the dietician is unlikely to listen I'm afraid.

I've supplement my veg with vitamins and minerals. An advantage for my thyroid dysfunction, ive found.
I then can have low carb protein bread without salad or counting more carbs.

Ps. One dietician is ok with low carb. She has carbs and cals book on her desk. 2 others have no interest in it. Head of dieticians for bariatric surgery wont entertain low carb either.

Typical dietitian advice. My dietitian also advised the same. She gave me a very carb heavy diet which didn't work of course, never satisfied my hunger, the more carbs I ate the more carbs I craved & then after that, cravings for sugar & dreaming about cake. This led to binge & weight gain.

I've been following the forum for a while and have read all the newbie stuff when I started which I found very useful.

I guess I was surprised at the dietician's reaction especially when she asked the source of my carbs and I said mainly vegetables and occasionally some berries/plums/yoghurt and said that low carb is purely things such as bread.

I'm currently on metformin (1000mg) and forxiga (10mg).
You are doing wonderfully. That dietician doesn't know what she's talking about. People that get bariatric surgery and lose so much weight are on a low carb, high protein diet. And then their intestines only absorb like 30% of that. So basiclaly its like surgically enforced fasting. They have plenty of energy from the ketones.

That said I do like eating a lot of green stuff like lettuces, scallions, asapargus, broccoli, brussel sprouts, green beans. Also like cauliflower in moderation as well as occasionally: 1/2 carrot a week, 1/2 red bell pepper week, sometimes 1/4 of a yellow onion. Only fruits I eat are berries: blackberries, raspberries and then blueberries (in that order). I kind of avoid straberries, cherries etc because they have more sugar content than the other berries.

I dunno about dairy, I've eaten it all my life and eaten a lot of it even lately. But I've been reading a bit about it and some things are interesting. I need to investigate this. To see if it causing any inflammation in me (and potentially larger amounts of cortisol). I suppose I should try to cut out dairy for a week to see if I see any difference in blood sugar.
