Begin where you want to begin, see if it works for you, then adjust upwards and downwards and see if that is better or worse.
There really are no rules for this, and please don't get hung up on detailed counting and measuring and phaff. Life is too short for that

unless you actually want to, of course. Some people seem to enjoy it.
Me? I avoid the usual, bread, rice, potato, pasta, sugar and tropical fruit. I eat normal portions of protein, plenty of non starchy veg, a few berries, and add cheese, butter, cream, coconut oil, as appropriate. Job done.
Out of interest, I counted carbs accurately for about 3 weeks once. Very tiresome. My heart went out to every carb counting insulin dependent. Turned out I eat under 50g carbs a day. Usually a lot less. But i do it because I feel
well on that. Not because of the numbers.
