I was diagnosed feb 2012 with T2. Could not tolerate any tablets. Started insulin September 2012. I have not been able to get much advise about carbs and type 2
Are there any courses or help I can get ?

sadly that very much depends where you live,
the short answer is yes,
get in touch with the diabetes, or long term care lead for your local CCG and find out!

Thanks or advise I have 3 other illnesses so my docs not sure which help to advise me on. I find this all confusing and feel like I am struggling on my own. I take loads of different drugs and feel lie **** most days
I will be back at docs tonight .

ask who your local Diabetes specialist nurse is, and arrange a meeting
if you dont have one, ask for a referral to a diabetologist/Endocrinologist at your local hospital

sometimes i think we should have a "what CCG are we with" section on profiles, but i think that might cause problems

A quick answer but do seek further advice from the surgery. Go for low portion sizes and low-GI carbs. This forum has many links to more details. Avoid food made from highly processed flour, avoid too many fruit juices. Go for multigrain bread, wholemeal flour, beans and pulses and so on and focus on veg, proteins and even fat (unsaturated if possible)
