Hi, my 10 year old son was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes 4 weeks ago. Hes coping really well with his injections and taking everything in his stride but im so confused. Hes been having quite a few hypos over the last couple of days and his doctor has lowered his insulin dose saying he was having a very good 'honeymoon period'- he was on quite a low dose to begin with but now he has 0.5 units of nova rapid at breakfast, 1 at lunch and 1 at teatime then 3 units of glargin at bedtime- has anybody else found this and how long does this 'honeymoon period last?. I dont want him to be on high doses of insulin but i thought that would be the way it goes- i just dont understand
