Constant HIGH Sugars Driving me insane

Hmm I'm stumped then to be honest, how often do you change your needles? Strange that shirt acting doesn't hurt. It sounds like a pump would be better for you, why did you come off it?

Hi you sound like me a few years ago. I had a registrar at the hospital, which did not impress me and she was fab. She listened- I am 46 and no one ever has before they just assume that high sugars mean you aren't being a "good" diabetic.

she asked for a full blood count and discovered that aswell as the diabetes underactive thyroid and polycystic ovaries I also have a low vitamin D which is common in UK.
The thyroid and Low vitamin d affect blood sugars massively.
I AM ALSO BACK ON PIG INSULIN- I TAKE hYPURIN porcine. A lady round the corner take the bovine. I do not get the allergy problems or the injection swelling or itching now
I also use a pump with the porcine- there are not many of us around in this part of the UK.I also take metformin for insulin resistance. I have just done 2 days of fasting and basal testing and one day with the metformin and one day without which proved how much I need it.
Life is more stable now.

It is very common if you have a disorder of the auto immune system to develop more than one. My suggestion would be to talk to your team and start with a full blood count.
My consultant is quite new- but if you are interested and pm me I will give you the name of my consultant and diabetic nurse and maybe yours can talk to mine as they are sorting me out really well. which after 43 years of no one caring is such a nice feeling.

It was fight to get the pig insulin- they said there is no difference. My argument was if there is no difference then why not try it. Patients are legally supposed to have choice in their medication.
good luck

Thanks all I will make a diary to see where it spikes! Night testing it is wahoo haha
do you use the system called Diasend- it is great for tracking what is going on and much easier to see it visually. My hospital aso use it so I can upload and we can just talk on the phone or email without me having to go in.

You are so young, I have had Type 1 for 48 years since the age of 6. You must eat your main meals breakfast, lunch and dinner. Adjust your insulin accordingly if this is failing you must go to your GP and ask him/her if they can admit you into hospital. Your Diabetic Consultant can/has to sort this out. Getting stressed does not help, you have a life to lead Diabetes is a condition not an illness which you can live with. I have had peaks and troughs and I am fit and healthy. You have your life ahead of you so get it sorted. It will make you feel better.
