Constant hypo's

Ok so you would of gone to bed with 2~3 hours of qa in you. I would suggest that you do an overnight basal test next but not tonight as your liver needs time to replenish from fasting this morning. Do try tomorrow evening if poss or any evening after. So to do that one have an early tea, at least 4 hours before bed 5hours better to ensure no bolus left in u before bed. Nothing sugary to drink/eat afterwards. After the 4/5 hours of your meal and bolus take your reading and every 2 hours (including through the night). You may want to do that on a weekend lol.

If your happy to do the lunch one ~ great. :)
So aim to eat at least 4 hours prior to your last reading from this morning, to get a continuous hourly profile. So if you ate at 12 today, have breakfast at 8am, again no sugary drinks or snacks afterwards. Note readings at 12,1,2,3,4 and if you can last 5.
Well done for doing this I know how hard and frustrating it is, especially when you have to correct during a test and redo it. There is light at the end though and well worth the effort. Do remember excercise wil reduce sugar levels so don't be doing nothing out of the ordinary to what u normally do.

Fingers and toes crossed lol. adjusting can be done after the tests themselves if it is needed. Can u guess what u have to do after the adjustments are made lol.

No, no problem at all, can feel lonely at times as "normal people" don't realise the effort we have to put in with this malarkey. Good thing is once this is done and dusted hopefully doing it once every 6 months is sufficient. :)

Had alot of problems on mdi. Now been on pump for a while. Took a LONG time to get basal rates done and then a while longer figuring out carb ratios. Do have occasional blips but usually knowing why. Usually down to excercise or having a meal out and estimating carbs. Rest of time am anything between 5~8 occasionally up to 10 but even the 9~10 are getting rare. not had a hypo now coming up for 4 weeks :)

Aw, ******. No, no problem with adjusting ratios. Depending on how severe the hypo was instead of trying to half the ratio from 1:1 to 0.5 to 1. Maybe set on your monitor 1 unit per 13 carbs. This is only a third reduction then instead of half which might send you too high.

I agree with brett too sarah. I always adjust the carb in the ratio. Something else you could try is use 10u to 125g carb which works out the same as 1u to 12.5g carb.
