Continuous blood sugar monitoring patch???

I spoke to my Dad last night on the phone and he said he'd read in the paper of a patch you stick on your arm that constantly monitors your blood sugar levels and transmits the readings to a device. Dad being dad lost the article though so I'm wondering if anyone knows of such a device and is it available on the market/NHS?.
 
No its in clinical trails at the moment. Not sure how they are going but they were looking for diabetics to start testing late this year.

Yes there is a device that can do that. Dexcom is a company in America and they distribute in Australia. I have emailed them as I want one. I did a carb counting course a few weeks ago and a young girl who was type1 since a baby had just finished trialling it and loved it. It lets you know when your heading for a hypo or getting to high. I thought that was what he was asking about.? Something that continuously monitors your blood levels?

Any idea how to find out about the trials and who they are looking for?

No I'm afraid the link i had is bad now. I'm fairly sure they were looking for T1's

A work colleague mentioned a monitoring patch recently. He has a friend who works for Abbott and it's apparently to be released very soon.
