If they're going for oral meds, they're likely assuming type 2. UTI's are a common occurrence with high blood sugars, so that makes sense. Can't comment on the gastritis, but you've basically been hit with a lot in one go, so just get busy right now with getting better. Mind you, if you drop blood sugars down some, the UTI'll vanish quicker too, as the bacteria rather love the glucose in your urine, and thrives on that. https://josekalsbeek.blogspot.com/2019/11/the-nutritional-thingy.html explains about T2 and foods some, but there's more ways to skin that cat, so if a change in diet isn't an option for you (not saying that you're eating bad things, just things that don't suit your metabolism, which others might not have any problems with at all!), there's medication that can help, too. Or have a mix of both. Whatever works for you.Eventually went and got checked out at A & E last night with nausea, weight loss of more than 6Kg in less than 4 months increased thirst. The answers that I got was uti, gastritis and diabetes but they didn't say what type the doctor said something about oral medication, and they ended up giving medication for the uti and gastritis and the doctor said that she will get the gp to prescribe medication for the diabetes

What checks do I need to ask for to clarify the type? I have to admit when I get the nausea and vomiting it's severe. Please please ask to have the proper checks to clarify type. Do not let the medical profession assume type 2. A 6kg weight loss and nausea does not necessarily mean gastritis. I had severe nausea and actual sickness prior to my type 1 diagnosis. It was my body trying to rid itself of the excess sugar.
You need to check for ketones, which you can do yourself through either urine test or finger prick, if you have a meter that can handle those strips. If you're not on a ketogenic diet and eating regularly, rather than fasting they shouldn't be present. High ketones and high blood sugars combined are a problem and an emergency situation. What checks do I need to ask for to clarify the type?
