Hi Folks

There was a piece on the BBC around 2 - 5 nights back that I saw but didn't take enough notice of. Professor someone or other reckoned he had cured 50% of a test group of Type II sufferers with diet alone. I know it mentioned a calorie intake of only 600 cals (which seems rather low, to say the least). Did anyone else see it? Can anyone point me to the programme it was in so I can iPlayer it?

Its called the Newcastle diet. Loads of stuff on here about it.

Found it! It was on the One Show on the 9th April 2015. The relevant part of the show starts 11mins 15 secs into the programmed. Oh, and it was 800 calories/day not 600.

Whilst you will lose weight and see results with your blood sugars that can be classed a "reversal " of your condition, it is the post diet that is equally important. You will not be able to eat anything and everything afterwards as you will be back to square one.
