Current blood sugars of 20mmol/l

Hi. I agree with the other posts. You should probably ask the GP to be changed to the Basal/Bolus regime i.e. two insulins and 4 to 5 injections per day. LADA is essentially Late onset T1 and T1s need to be on Basal/Bolus. I've no idea what a 'Baby dose' is; sounds a bit silly of the GP to say that. Yes, you should not be having Gliclazide and insulin; one or the other and not both; in your case you need insulin. I had to remind my lovely DN to stop my Gliclazide when she started my insulin which she readily agreed to. It's a pity your GP and consultant appear a bit useless; you may need to take charge a bit. NICE says to use Basal/Bolus for T1. BTW GAD can sometimes show a false negative even with LADA/T1 (see NICE Guidelines) so don't let a negative stop the GP doing the Basal/Bolus. The c-peptide test can help prove the need for insulin.
