Curries saltier than Atlantic

Jim,

Its no surprise, but nonetheless pretty disgusting that they are allowed to add so much salt to these dishes. I don't buy ready meals from supermarkets and much prefer to make my own from scratch. As a treat occasionally, I always choose a Chinese takeaway over a Indian, as I find that the Chinese has a less salty taste to the food, although I know there will be ample amount added just the same.

Good scratch is so hard to find though Nigel!
Seriously though... I find thickening is one of my biggest problems if I only use 'safe' ingredients.

It is not just added salt as far as I am concerned, but I also have to be sure that MSG is not present due to the tendency of an arrhythmia (AF) always waiting to jump up and inflict me again ...MSG is one of my triggers!

I know MSG is in Chinese takeaways in large quantities is it the same in Indians :?:
