Hi noblehead - can I tweak that answer? It is usually delivered to people on basal/bolus, but it was actually designed for people on 2 injections a day, and there's no real reason why the principles can't still apply to those people.noblehead said:DAFNE is designed for people on a basal/bolus regime.

If anyone is getting turned away because they aren't on basal/bolus, they could try fighting on those grounds and I'm more than happy to dig out some useful academic papers if they're needed.
Snodger (now entering scary final year of PhD on DAFNE...hence my silence of late)...
would be interesting because I don't see how!It is usually delivered to people on basal/bolus, but it was actually designed for people on 2 injections a day, and there's no real reason why the principles can't still apply to those people.

I've been use to the portion diet since 1977 and have 200 grams of carbohydrate a day. Will i find the new way of measuring my food intake hard to understand or is it easy?

Although the course came highly recommended by HCP and from people who had already been on the course I was still apprehensive prior to the course starting, after day one I realised I'd made one of the best decisions of my life and have to say I thoroughly enjoyed the course and learnt a great deal from the experience.

Let us know how your boyfriend gets on after the week is finished.

I would definately recommend you go on it.

If your boyfriend has an i phone tell him there is an app to download called carbs and cals, i know DAFNE reccomend it, its brilliant, no need to weigh food on the go when carb counting, it has the majority of foods stored in it to hep you estimate ow many carbs ur eating.
I hope he enjoys the course, i know i did
