I am type 2 & have been prescribed metformin and glicazide, I am also steroid dependant but I have been experiencing daily hypos in the early evening. Upon waking I'm usually 10 or so & this climbs steadily through the day to a peak mid afternoon of about 19.
The unit at the local hospital looking into this are stumped, they have stopped both my meds for a few days to rule them out but all this has done is make my levels a lot higher through the day but the hypos are still happening just the same.
I'm eating sensibly, I'm not exercising at the time or doing anything different in any way.
Please if anyone has any ideas please let me know

Many thanks
Paul

Hi. I can't really offer any help on this other than to say that Metformin won't be causing the hypos so you may want to discuss re-starting this with your HCPs. Glic can cause hypos but as you have stopped taking this as a trial you can observe the effect. For interest how low does you blood sugar go when you hypo?

I'm back to see them on Friday so should start some type of meds again then. I am usually down to low 2's before I feel the effect and react but I have had a 1.3
