Prediabetes Daughter's insulin resistance levels

Hello, my daughter (15) is currently prediabetic. We have been working on a low carb and more active lifestyle for her. Three months ago her insulin resistance level was 2062 and today I got the most recent results and it is 201. She really hasn't lost much weight and I am suspicious. Her A1C is now 6.0 and fasting glucose is 5.3. Wondering about the insulin resistance?

Do you know what test they used to measure insulin resistance? I've never heard of insulin resistance being measured outside academic research.

I assume a blood test shows insulin then they minus how much we inject to get a more accurate reading. But I could be wrong.
My specialist just said I'm insulin resistant and I acceoted his diagnosis.
She has done well to decrease her resistance to such a much lower level. Well done to you too mum. :)

I thought the C Peptide levels show insulin resistance. If you have very high levels it means you are producing a lot. Very low levels not enough. The insulin we inject doesn't produce c peptide.

Yes, this could be a useful test but it is expensive unless it can be done on the NHS if in the UK. As a generalisation if your daughter still has some excess weight then there may be some remaining insulin resistance but it sounds like she is going in the right direction.
