Does anybody else’s blood sugar continue to rise until they’ve eaten breakfast & then stay stable for the rest of the day?
I usually exercise fasted first thing & can’t control the b/s but ok the rest of the day, it keeps going up even if I don’t move.
Any ideas what to eat before exercise to keep them stable?
I’m up at 5am every day & full of energy & just like to exercise in the morning.
Thanks

For me, coffee with some heavy cream was enough to tell my liver to knock it off with the dumping. A little square of extra dark chocolate would do the trick too. Though I'm sure some cheese or something'd suffice as well.

(Mind you, my espresso's/coffee's are always decaf. Regular coffee could trigger a liver dump, as it's a stimulant)

Thanks jo
Always have a cup of tea,
Before exercise I’ve tried walnuts, cheese strings and cheese strings with Brazil nuts doesn’t make any difference, going to try 1/2 a ryvita & spoon of peanut butter next

Yes! For me, foot to floor is usually about 7.5, it shoots up to 9.5 from the exertion of getting up and dressed, and stays there until about 11am when, as long as I’ve been sitting quietly, it drops like a stone to about 6.5 where it stays for the rest of the day.

I’m not sure for me whether breakfast as such does make a difference. Breakfast (usually 3.5g of carbs) doesn’t spike me but it doesn’t lower either.

I have tried the trick of a small amount of food before even getting up (usually a protein shake, 2g carbs) but it’s never seemed to make much difference either way.

Going to the gym this morning - that was a disaster! 9-10mmol for HOURS (it’s dropped now)
