well im just about through day one of the low carb diet its been a strange day i had 2 eggs scrambled with 2 rashers of bacon for breakfast then picked at a bit of chicken at lunch wast really hungry just needed to chew something lol for dinner tonight i had roast lamb and veg (im having a bit of a sweet tooth moment right now but am resisting) any way first time ever my sugars have been constant in the mid 9's all day i know this is still high but normaly it goes up to around 14 then drops to under 4 during differnt times of the day so this is good (ohhhhhh found some almonds to nibble on now ) so not sure if this is good or bad i think good as levels have been constant all day just hope i got the foods right as it can seem so confusing, let me know what you think

You're making a great start keep it up :) As Swim says, take it one day at a time. If the cravings get too bad try a FEW Ritz crackers and cheese they were a very good friend in my early days. Just don't be tempted to take the box into the room with you! Although it might sound strange then put some real butter on each Ritz. Along with the cheese I found it really helped with feeling hungry and although Ritz are quite low carb the butter will also work to slow down the effect of the carbs in them.

A good start - almonds & most nuts are good low carb/high fat.

I suggest a food drink made with a teasp low cal drinking choc & 3-4 teasp ground almonds made up with boiling water or milk. Stir well (it tends to settle) & stir again before its finished. It gives you about 200 low carb cals & is quite sustaining.

You are doing really well! I'm day 3 tomorrow, when i get sweet cravings i have a spoon of peanut butter, i know its not sweet but its the only thing in i have as a substitute until i do a proper shop :)
