Definition of a hijacked thread?

These are the guidelines :) in case anyone is interested, i have this on the highest authority, tough guidelines to follow when your mouth far out weighs the size of your brain, but i will try to be good, so don't goad me lol, i think on the other hand i will need a continuing nonsense thread to be able to talk rubbish, assuming its impossible to hijack a thread about nothing in particular, this won't be as fun but i will be able to stay and play with you guys this way :)

A thread hijacking occurs when one or more individuals commenting on the original posting, go off topic, creating a separate conversation. This is rude, and bad internet etiquette. If people want to discuss a different topic, they should start their own thread.
Below is a thread, consisting of an original posting and comments on that original posting. They illustrate a thread hijacking.

original posting: I'm so excited that my cat has learned to use the toilet with City Kitty! The training seemed like it took forever, but it's so worth it to not have to deal with a litter box any more! Has anyone else done this?

comment 1: Ugh! I just started training my cat, but he can't seem to move beyond the orange stage. How'd you get through that?

comment 2: I'm training my dog at PetCo classes. She's very smart. She learns the commands faster than the other dogs.

comment 3: I'm training my dog in PetCo classes too. They have great trainers. They're patient with the dogs and the people.

Comments 2 and 3 are off topic and are hijacking this thread. The person who made comment 2 should have started their own thread. The person who made comment 3 is guilty of continuing the hijacking.

As you are concerned about what I said can I clarify that highjacking a thread is replying to an existing thread with a different topic. We are all guilty from time to time and my post was not against anyone in particular. You seem to have taken it personally.

My message was on topic and a reply to the OP.
All seems to be rather taken out of context, come on everyone life is short, move on....:) Kat x

I posted on a thread like that yesterday in which the OP posted a link then left without comment. Seemed a bit weird to me.

As for the "hijacked" thread in question, I was literally lolling at Beachbag. They say laughter is the best medicine so thanks for that! Sorry to Kat if there was any offence x
There was never any offence, not sure why it has all gone pear shaped, move on everyone life is short x

no ones upset kat, this thread was supposed to be tongue in cheek :) i agree life is to sho......:dead:

Add some 'fizz' to the jelly
Make it with half diet lemonade and half water ...
Best made with green sugar free jelly too .
Tingles your tongue when eaten :wideyed:

Anyone is welcome to hijack any thread of mine, so long as its funny or about:

rugby
beer
Pork Scratchings
Or Bears

Anyone starting a row about low fat v high fat will be eaten however.
