Hi

Talk to your GP. I've suffered bouts of depression and have personally benefitted from taking antidepressants. Although I appreciate you may not want to take that route it may still be worth discussing the situation with your GP.

Though I apreciate easier said than done. Keeping sugar levels on a daily basis within a healthy perameter takes the edge off it..!

I suffer with anxiety which I'm on tablets for but I find my diabetes makes me feel even more anxious some times. Your probably best speaking to your gp

All I can offer is - the more you put your energy and focus into getting informed, recording your food, your levels etc etc...the more you will be in control. I am of the opinion that, while there are obviously many causes of depression and anxiety, not being in control or fearing that we have little or not control is not far from the heart of the matter. So - get in control of what you can.
I am also utterly certain that we are all variations along a curve of mental health, as we are with physical health... but I would also suggest that being temporarily overwhelmed to varying degrees by things - even to the point of anger or depression - is to be human in the modern world); pardon the expression but only a total nutter could possibly find it all wonderful! Good luck.

I suffer with bipolar, it was hard to deal with the bipolar and being type2

If you are newly diagnosed it can be hard to stay positive which can lead to depression. Is that why you are feeling low? As someone above said it is easier said than done but I found that once my blood glucose was at a stable level my general mental health improved - I've realised that diabetes doesn't have to be the death sentence I thought on diagnosis. Remember you now have the support of everyone in this forum when you need it.

However if your depression is a long term situation and diabetes has just added to it make sure you get advice from your GP to help you through. I've nursed my partner through serious depression so have seen the effects and understand just how hard it can be to see positives. He found exercise really helped him, maybe it could help you.

Best of luck, don't be a stranger to the forums - someone on here will have been through it and they are a friendly bunch on here :)
