My response to this would be to go back and ask them why they think they have the right to decide how much you choose to take on and when you do it. It is, after all, your diabetes and not theirs, and you are the one who makes these decisions, not them.Same situation as me, I felt like I was educating them, and I've been diagnosed only since January! Also I have to wait a year to go on the carb counting course, which I'm really keen to do! But I asked about how protein and fat in food will effect my readings and was told I'm taking on too much to soon![]()
As you are asking for help, you'd appreciate it being given rather than being told by someone that doesn't know you that you are trying to take on too much too soon. Then stick in the "Surely it's better that I want to take care of myself and limit the damage to my body that can occur with poor information and the costs this will incur to the NHS" for good measure. I expect that you'll get a response on that one....
I'm assuming that you've looked at the BDEC course already, but it's worth being pushy and difficult with them, because it's your diabetes, so really, they should be working with you.
