Hi, I'm the one who began the other thread re mobile compatibility with the Dexcom G5. Thanks everyone for the replies! Can someone using the Xdrip (or do I need Xdrip+? What's the difference?) explain to me how I go about setting it up on my Motorola G4Plus phone? I couldn't find it as an app on Google play.

I'm also a little confused what nightscout is and if I need that too? I do not to share my info with anyone, I simply want my phone to be my receiver for money and convenience.

Thanks very much,

GgIt's not on Google play as a download but can be searched using Google, yahoo etc for xDrip G5.or xDrip+ Just make sure that yr phone has android 5.1 or higher and has a bit of memory available and untick the box in yr settings menu on the phone to allow for apps from other sources to be downloaded. Also google xDrip G5 getting started pdf and follow the info for using the app.

I don't use Nightscout because I don't want to share my data with Dexcom or anyone else. I just use my phone to be the receiver and send the data to my pebble watch when I want to so everything is done offline

Thank you! Great help. Do I need a pebble watch too?
I'm worried it'll kill my battery on my phone, or slow my phone down - although I have plenty storage space (64gb) plus 4gb ram. Any experience here?

You don't need a smartwatch if you don't have one.......its optional and can be activated from the xDrip settings menu.
All you need to download is xdrip+ (follow the link given in fbook) and then instal it on yr phone.

I tend to charge my phone up every day but it's old now. I charge it up overnight and leave xdrip running so that any problems.....I will get an alert. There are loads of options to choose regarding bg alerts etc so take your pick and learn as you go.

It would be wise to post this in the "CGM in the cloud" group on Facebook if you haven't already. You'll get a lot more help on this particular topic over there.
