Dexcom g6 and libre 2

I’ve been using the dexcom g6 and love most things about it, but tomorrow I have to decide whether to go back to the libre 2

What I like about the g6: it seems to be more accurate for me (i may be imagining this though); 2) i can calibrate it; 3) it, surprisingly because of my sleep position, doesn’t seem to get compression lows
What I dislike about the g6: not being able to quickly scroll back through previous days’ data; 2) not being able to add text notes (1 and 2 are software related and minor really but I miss being able to add text notes and being able to quickly go back through previous days to show my GP. I know I can, sort of, do it using Clarity. 3)and this is the BIG one for me, I seem to have lost a bit less than half of my possible insulin injection sites. I don’t know if this is a problem because I swap sensor sides every 10 days but it does worry me. I cann’t use my legs as injection sites because of lipid lumps from prolonged clexane injections. I can see on my stomach that many of my injections are close together :( How do other g6 users effectively rotate injection sites?

So, I guess that injection sites are my biggest concern followed by the more minor sofware ‘issues’ associated with the g6 s/ware (I really like the libre software better)

I’m torn and don’t know what decision I’ll make. G6 supplies are a bit trickier for my pharmacy to order as well (e.g. making sure I get the over patches in the same order) but I think that over time that may resolve itself

Can you inject on your arms?
Upper arms near where the libre 2 would normally go? I don’t see why not. Might take some practice though!

Edit: I’ll give it a go tonight. Might practice without the needle attached first… not confident but a quick google shows that it’s common enough

And you can also put your g6 on your upper arms.

Well in that case I’ll probably stick with the g6 because despite my minor dislikes with the software I do like the g6 better. Apart from the first day of wear the g6 readings are usually within 0.4 mmol/L of fingerprick (usually 0.1-0.2). Also I’ve had only 2 false lows (and these may have been compression lows and were early AM on the final day of the sensor). With the libe 2 I was getting, on average, 2-3 compression lows a night: probably because I sleep in weird positions. I do miss being able to add text notes but I’m not sure that that’s a compelling reason to swap back to the libre 2. I’ll try and convince my GP to install Clarity (endo and DE already have it so probably not a big deal either). Now just to sort out my potential supply/ordering issue. I’m sure that the pharmacy will get used to it (apparently I’m their only g6 user). If not I think I can order direct from the supplier… I’ll have to ask NDSS)

I just injected on the back of my arm and it was tricky but I did it,so that solves the injection site issue

edit: the compression lows were why my DE switched me to the g6 as a trial in the first place. That’s a solved issue with the g6 (for me… everyone’s different I imagine so what’s good for me might not be good for everyone… libre 2 is still good and millions use it with no issue)
