Ive used g6 for about 6 months and my current sensor is the first I've covered, day 3 and so far no issues and the transmitter is in its last sensor!!

Dexcom in NZ have just started supplying a cover with each order of sensors... It does seem to make it less likely to fall off but am a bit equivocal about it because it was making my arm itch...

I use the Dexcom overpatches. They’re free in Australia for use with the G6 but you currently have to order them separately as they don’t automatically come in or with the box of sensors. I do occasionally get itchy but don’t know if it’s from the overpatch or the G6 sensor itself because ai’ve never not used the patches

Dexcom in Germany sends overpatches free with each delivery, at least in my state. A pack of 10 overpatches comes with every box of 9 sensors.

I use overpatches more in summer, if I'm more active or if I'm trying a new location. I was on holiday in London and I think the hard water made the sensor adhesive come loose sooner so I used overpatches. I'm currently trying a sensor on my inner upper arm and I applied an overpatch on day 1 as extra security.

I've had no problems with itchiness.

I've had no problems with itchiness.
I had to stop using the libre because of an allergic reaction to the sensors (which also made them hopelessly inaccurate). My dexcom sensors occasionally feel itchy, but I've kept things under control with cavillon cream. The itchiness (from the overpatch) was really bad for a few days but has now subsided.. I'll probably use some under the overpatch next time). So itchiness is hopefully more of an issue for me than for other people.

Hypos, rude people, ignorance and grey days.
Dexcom will be sending patches out now with all orders so you can use them if you wish - personally I don't as I find the adhesive to be fine for the 10 days and think i've only had one in 4 off years that started to peel off my arm.
