Hi,
I've read a few of the threads on here and found them very useful/entertaining. Time to join in! I had a kidney transplant 18 months ago and 2 months after that, after routine bloods were taken but with no symptoms, I was diagnosed with diabetes- type 2 they told me. I've since learned that its something that can affect transplantees and is referred to as NODAT - new onset diabetes after transplant. I started immediately injecting with Lantus 1 x 39mg and Humalog 3 x 5-8mg daily. I have put on so much weight Literally none of my clothes pre-transplant fitted me, even my feet grew a size! I havent heard of any other transplant patients with diabetes and wonder if there is anyone with a similar medical history? It would be good to compare notes
