Hello and welcome Elaine . Firstly, please dont apologise for moaning , you have been through a really rough time where depression is to be expected . You will find solace and support on here but I would also urge you to see your Doctor and, as well as his/her help , ask about any support groups in your area ? Please dont suffer alone x

Hi Elaine, and welcome! You'll find friends on here, and it's a good supportive place to have a moan!

Please do go and chat about this with your doctor. There are lots of things that can help without having to take drugs, but even the drugs are better these days.

I used to get dreadfully depressed at this time of year - bursting into tears all over the doctor was a regular occurence, every February  . Some of the simplest things can cause it - in my case it was a mildly under-active thyroid, and low Vitamin D levels.

Bananas are good for depression, if you can eat them. Apparently they contain a natural tranquilliser - worth trying!

Viv :)

Welcome. If you cant moan here where can you. I have recently been dz with t2 and was devastated, had a few goods weeks and now feel pretty much the same as you. Have also suffered with depression. I am gong back to my DOC and get dome anti depreesamts as I have found self help doesnt Work For me. It is worth speaking to your DOC either way as they may suggest counselling (I have said no up to now but am serously thinking about it). I really do sympathise and feel free to pm me any time xoxoxox

Hi Elaine and welcome to the forum,

Sorrow is such a private thing, & no one could truly know what you're going through, But know there are many who care & are here for you now in any way you need

thank you all for your support .I am on tabllets and went back to docs to say I was not feeling any better and he said he could not do anymore but counselling so I tried that and felt great for a while but just gone down hill again .going to try docs again don,t want to be taking tablets that aren,t doing anything but not giving up yet must be something getting where I don,t want to do anything I,m having to force myself to do anything thank you all again nice to talk to people who understand

Counselling might need to be an ongoing thing together with some Meds......mine was and it eventually subsided once I had come to terms with all the issues about PTSD I was suffering.
It will always be there but at least I now know how to control it and avoid those situations which can bring memories back to the fore........not easy sometimes.

ATB...... :)
